EPRODD was well represented at the bi-annual meeting of the Society for Applied Research in Memory and Cognition (SARMAC), held in Kyoto from 26 - 30 July. Aldert Vrij, Sharon Leal, Gerhon Ben-Shakhar, Bruno Verschuere and Ewout Meijer chaired, presented and served as discussant in several symposia. For the abstracts click here.

Bruno Verschuere, Gershon Ben-Shakhar and Ewout Meijer signed a contract with Cambridge University Press for the publication of an edited book entitled "From deception detection to memory detection: Theory and application of the Concealed Information Test". The book is scheduled to appear in the end 2010.

On 22-23 January 2009, EPRODD held a workshop in Maastricht (the Netherlands). During this workshop, consortium members and officials from several agencies that are involved in investigating and preventing crime and terrorism (police, secret service, airport security and passport control) discussed the problems that these officials face in carrying out their work and how researchers could help them to improve their lie detection activities.
